Consultation response: assessing the quality of higher education

The Royal Society has responded to the Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) Committee's inquiry into assessing the quality of higher education.

The inquiry looked at proposed changes to quality assessment in universities and the potential impact of introducing a Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).

The Society's response outlines a set of principles, challenges and risks that will need to to be taken into account when developing and implementing a TEF.
