Response to UNCBD inquiry into ecosystem-based adaptation

The Royal Society responds to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity’s request for information relating to biodiversity and climate change and disaster risk reduction. The response outlines cost-benefit analyses and trade-offs of ecosystem-based approaches to climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction, as well as additional consequences that these interventions may have, and highlights the importance of involving local communities in their implementation.
