Consultation response - Implementing the English Baccalaureate

28 January 2016

The Department for Education recently consulted on implementing the English Baccalaureate.

The Society has written jointly with other scientific bodies to raise two issues of concern for teaching and learning of the sciences; the impact that teacher shortages may have on schools' ability to offer all three sciences in the manner required for the Ebacc, and the potential that its implementation could lead to a restriction of science options for young people.
