Dame Sue Ion, Chair of the Society’s Science, Industry and Translation Committee has written to the Chief Secretary to the Treasury to highlight the importance of reviewing the scope of R&D tax credits to reflect current research practices. She highlights that this should form part of a range of complementary financial reliefs that together effectively target the research that the UK wishes to incentivise.
