The Royal Society welcomes the opportunity to respond to the Science and Technology Committee's inquiry on 'Reproducibility and Research Integrity'. As an advocate, funder and publisher of science, the Society maintains that good science relies on scientists generating and sharing their findings with openness and honesty, which ensures the use of science for social benefit and a culture that fosters research integrity. To that end, the Society has led efforts to improve research culture, has published its own research integrity statement, and has led work on the role that Open Science can play in deterring misconduct.
