The roundtable was hosted by the Royal Society at the University of Exeter, as part of the ‘Creating Connections’ events series to convene academics and industry professionals from the South-West of England. The roundtable was chaired by Professor Samuel Vine, Professor of Psychology at the University of Exeter, and sought to discuss the policy priorities for the use of immersive technologies in scientific research.
The key topics discussed were the challenges faced by industry and academic researchers working with immersive technologies including training, sustainability, and access to markets. The Royal Society’s programme on Science in the age of AI explores some of these themes further.
