In the Royal Society’s 350th anniversary year, President Martin Rees explores the challenges facing science in the modern world in the 2010 Reith Lectures: ‘Scientific Horizons’.

The second of the 2010 Reith lectures ‘Surviving the Century’ aired on BBC Radio 4 on the 8 June 2010 at 9am. Martin Rees discussed the challenges facing science in the 21st century, exploring the problems and some of the ways that science might be able to solve them.

The next two lectures will be broadcast on Tuesday 15 and 22 June at 9am. The lectures can also be heard on the BBC World Service from 5 June at 6pm.
