2010 Reith Lectures

01 June 2010

In the Royal Society’s 350th anniversary year, President Martin Rees explores the challenges facing science in the modern world in the 2010 Reith Lectures: ‘Scientific Horizons’.

The first of the 2010 Reith lectures ‘The Scientific Citizen’ aired on BBC Radio 4 this morning (1 June 2010) at 9am. As the public turns to the government and the media to explain the risks we face, Martin Rees called on scientists to play a greater role in helping people to understand science and the affect it has on us. The podcast of the first lecture ‘The Scientific Citizen’ is available now:  download the podcast.

The next three lectures will be broadcast on Tuesday 8, 15 and 22 June at 9am. The lectures can also be heard on the BBC World Service from 5 June at 6pm.
