Call for EPSRC to pause ‘shaping capability’ strategy

22 September 2011

The Royal Society has joined with other science, engineering and mathematics bodies to call on the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) to pause the changes being made to its funding policy.

A letter sent to the EPSRC has recommended that the research council “give time both for wider consultation and for you to consider further the implications of these policy changes on UK research”.

The letter has been signed by leaders of the Institute of Physics, The Council for the Mathematical Sciences, The Royal Academy of Engineering, the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Institution of Engineering & Technology.
