Royal Society response to Scottish referendum result

19 September 2014

In light of the news this morning that Scotland has voted to stay in the UK, Paul Nurse, President of the Royal Society said:

“The people of Scotland have spoken on the question of independence and the result is a good one for the future of Scottish and UK science.  Together we have a strong research base that is the envy of the world in terms of quality and efficiency.  We can now carry on in putting that to good use, not just for the UK but for everyone.”
