The recent call for volunteers brought an enormous response and we are currently processing the offers of help. We are currently prioritising areas that can best support the national effort to tackle the pandemic. We will contact those who we feel can best contribute to these as we define them in the coming days and weeks.
The RAMP Steering Committee thanks everyone who has responded to the online survey for their overwhelming offers of support.
This urgent call to action is addressed to the scientific modelling community, and is a scheme to allow those with modelling skills (including data science) to contribute to current UK efforts in modelling the COVID-19 pandemic.
A willingness to work on specified tasks, and to deadlines, is needed. However, no previous experience in epidemic modelling, as such, is required of RAMP participants.
Full details of the scheme can be found here but the call for volunteers is now closed:

Note that RAMP does not address molecular modelling of the virus itself or of new antivirals, vaccines, etc. These avenues are already the subject of various efforts and initiatives internationally, such as http://www.hecbiosim.ac.uk/covid-19
Fellows of the Royal Society and people that we fund are contributing to the UK and global effort to tackle Coronavirus COVID-19.
