Following careful consideration of the current course of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, the Royal Society has made the decision to implement a closure of our buildings to Fellows, staff, conferencing clients and other visitors. They will close at 5pm on Wednesday 18 March and will remain closed until further notice.
We have taken this decision in the interests of our Fellows, staff, conferencing clients and other visitors.
Although our buildings will close, the business of the Royal Society will continue with staff working remotely, wherever possible. Information will continue to be posted on our website including for Fellows, Grant Holders, and Grant Applicants.
Our programme of meetings and events is cancelled or postponed until the summer, including the 2020 Summer Science Exhibition.
At the moment we are planning for our Autumn programme to go ahead but given the fluidity of the situation we will be closely monitoring government advice.
In the meantime, our thoughts go out to all those whose health is impacted here in the UK and around the world.
