Dr Michael Lynch OBE FREng FRS

Responding to the formal announcement of the death of Dr Michael Lynch OBE FREng FRS, Sir Adrian Smith, President of the Royal Society, said:

“Mike Lynch was an exceptional scientist, mathematician and entrepreneur, who turned his knowledge of Bayesian statistics and pattern recognition into innovative and successful technology companies.

“As President of the Royal Society, a fellow statistician and friend, I offer my deepest condolences to Mike’s family, and all of those affected by this tragic news.”
