A new visible world: Robert Hooke’s Micrographia
In 1665 Robert Hooke published the first fully-illustrated book of microscopy, amazing his readers with a whole new world of tiny structures. In her talk, historian Dr Felicity Henderson toured the weird and wonderful shapes of tiny everyday objects, from a flea to a printed full-stop, and learn how Hooke changed the way people understood the world.
