Life, data, and the ‘Internet of Things’

25 July 2016 18:30 - 19:30

Fitness trackers, smart thermostats and the internet fridge. As more devices become ‘smart’ and connected to the internet, the amount of data generated by modern lifestyles has grown immensely. But what can be done with all this data?

We joined Dr Boris Adryan, Royal Society Research Fellow, to discover how machine learning could make sense of the ‘Internet of Things’, using everyday data to transform lifestyles, business, healthcare and more.

This event was part of Science in the City, a week long celebration of Manchester as European City of Science 2016.

What is a Café Scientifique?
