Extinction: Evolution's Partner in Crime?
This event is part of a series of lightning lectures for the Royal Society’s 2021 Summer Science digital showcase.
The mass-extinction of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago, along with multiple other life forms, ended the 165-million-year reign of these magnificent prehistoric creatures and now icons of extinction.
Join Professor Phillip Manning to explore if extinction plays a critical role in the ebb and flow of life and whether we should view this spectre of doom as evolutions partner in crime, allowing new life forms to develop and emerge from its shadow.
