Research summary

Malaria continues to kill hundreds of thousands of people every year, particularly children in Africa. Current interventions have been very useful, saving millions of lives, but the consensus is that new tools are needed to eradicate the disease. Malaria is transmitted by female mosquitoes, and we are developing methods to suppress the numbers of mosquitoes using enzymes that target specific sequences in the mosquito DNA.
