Professor Brian Davies FRS

Brian Davies is an outstanding and prolific analyst who has made important contributions to many branches of mathematics and mathematical physics. In particular, his study of Schrödinger operators, scattering theory and the dynamics of quantum systems is of central importance. More recently, he has made deep contributions to the theory of the heat equation on general manifolds.
