David Swinscoe is an independent education consultant working with a range of organisations on post-16 STEM education.
David has worked in post-16 education for over 35 years. He was previously the Director of the Centre for Applied Sciences at City and Islington College running a broad range of science and engineering education courses for young people and adults in central London.
David studied physics at Bedford College, University of London. After qualifying as a secondary science teacher, he taught in both secondary and primary schools before moving to the post-16 sector to teach physics and electronics and to manage science provision. He is an active member of the STEM education community involved in teacher and technician education, research and curriculum development. He was LSIS STEM Strategic Director for Science, part of a team improving STEM teaching and learning in colleges and the wider learning and skills sector in England.
David is also a senior assessor and writes education materials.
