Research summary

I study light-matter interaction, where new half-and-half particles arise, called "polaritons" or dressed states. My main area or research is cavity-QED in the presence of large dissipation and dephasing. This spoils some of the beautiful quantum effects appearing due to the strong interaction but also makes them more interesting, the outcome of a competition between coherent (or reversible) and incoherent (or random) processes. I am interested on the impact of excitation and out-of-equilibrium physics on the existence and dynamics of polaritons.
