Professor Kerry Rowe FREng FRS
Professor and Canada Research Chair in Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering, Queen's University, Canada
R. Kerry Rowe is one of the most distinguished civil engineers of his generation. His research in the fields of geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering has had major impact on the profession worldwide. He has made important scientific advances in many areas but is most widely known as one of the pioneers of, and for his novel research contributions to, geosynthetics and geoenvironmental engineering with particular emphasis on barriers for landfills. His work includes development of new analysis and software, computations, micro and mesocosm experiments, and comparisons between those techniques and observed field behaviour including results from long-term monitoring.
