Fin is an Assistant Director for the NCETM (since September 2023), working on Targeted Support in Mathematics. Qualifying as a primary teacher in 2008, he was fortunate to complete the Primary MaST in 2012, which has led to a passion for developing primary mathematics with a focus on mathematical thinking as central to the learning of mathematics. This has been heavily influenced by the work of the Association of Teachers of Mathematics and he is a member both of ATM and the ATM/MA Joint Primary Group. Fin has taught across the KS2 age range and led primary maths in schools and multi-academy trusts, supporting teachers and leaders working with learners aged 3-19. Prior to joining NCETM he spent four years working alongside ten primaries to develop oracy and reasoning pedagogies.
