Research summary

I work on Laboratory Plasma Astrophysics, a new, exciting field of research which aims at performing experiments looking at reproducing some of the physics of a number of space phenomena. Overall this field aims at combining observations, numerical simulations and experiments through collaborations with experts in each field, making this research highly multi-disciplinary. The benefit to society is opening the study of astrophysics through experiments, particularly in University-based facilities. This new approach can reach the public more directly compared to observations of objects which can only be done in large-scale observational facilities.
