Research summary

The hierarchical structure of polymers determines their mechanical and functional properties. Understanding and controlling the microstructure formation of polymers is crucial to achieving high performance polymeric materials. My current research focuses on the structure and property relationship of semicrystalline polymers. The structure formation and evolution of polymers under external fields (temperature, flow or deformation) is investigated by in-situ X-ray scattering and infrared spectroscopy techniques. I am also interested in understanding the crystallization behavior (nucleation, orientation and kinetics) of polymers in confined geometry such as in microcapsules or nanocylinders.
