Research summary

My lab studies the bacterial DNA replication in the model organism Bacillus subtilis. Using a combination of genetics, cell biology, molecular biology, and biochemistry, we are investigating regulatory systems that control the master bacterial DNA replication initiation protein DnaA. Our long-term goal is to understand the molecular mechanisms that coordinate bacterial DNA replication initiation with cell growth and the cell division cycle.
