Professor John Cassels FRS

John Cassels made many contributions to the theory of numbers. He made notable discoveries relating to the metrical theory of Diophantine approximation, and elucidated some difficult problems of simultaneous approximation. He also added much to our knowledge of arithmetic on curves of genus 1.

Professor John Cassels FRS died on 27 July 2015.
