Research summary

I am now working on silicon photonics, including simulation, layout design, fabrication and testing of silicon based photonic devices and chips. Current research has been focused on high-speed silicon modulators, large port-count optical switch fabrics, and large-range contineously tunable optical delay lines. The devices that used in these research are versatile, such as Mach-Zehnder interferometers, microring resonators, Bragg gratings, Multimode interferometers etc. I am also collaborating with Prof. Aziz Rahman of City University London to investigate the high-speed low-power and ultra-compact optical modulator based on a Si-VO2 hybrid waveguide in the project funded by the Advanced Newton Fellowship.
