Nigel Peake is Professor of Applied Mathematics and Head of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics at the University of Cambridge.
His research interests lie in the field of wave motion, especially as applied to problems in acoustics and aerodynamics. Much of his work is sponsored by industry, and has included the development of methods for predicting noise generation by aircraft, the understanding of fluid-structure interaction and flow stability. He has received the Aeroacoustic Awards of both the Council of European Aerospace Societies and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics in recognition of his research contributions.
Nigel is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Fluid Mechanics. He is co-Director of the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Analysis at Cambridge.
