Peter Giblin is emeritus professor of mathematics at the University of Liverpool, where he was head of department 2000-2004. He was a member of ALCAB and subsequent committees before the formation of the Expert Panel for A level. He has been chair of the Committee of Heads of Department of Mathematical Sciences in the UK (HoDoMS), of the higher education committee of the IMA, of the scientific committee of the British Mathematical Colloquium and of the Mathematical Sciences Section of the British Science Festival. He was appointed OBE for services to mathematics in the Birthday Honours 2018.
