Research summary

My current research interests include plasmonics/metamaterial nanophotonics and the applications in optoelectronic devices. The general aim is to enhance light-matter interaction at a nanoscale based on advanced nanophotonic effect so that we could make optoelectronic devices with ultrasmall size, high operation speed, high responsitivity, etc. In details, we are studying on light trapping and spectral engineering in subwavelength structures, and developing nanophotonics enhanced graphene photodetector and photovoltaic cell, high speed waveguide modulator and spatial light modulator based on transparent conductive oxide, high resolution terahertz sensor, metasurface or light wave manipulating, etc. These works may provide us techniques for better utilization of solar energy, higher bandwidth of optics communication, faster and more accurate detection of biological or chemical samples.
