Roger Porkess has been active in mathematics and statistics education throughout his career, first as a teacher and then for 20 years as Chief Executive of Mathematics in Education and Industry (MEI). He formally retired in 2010 but continues to work at the national level as an independent consultant and as a member of various bodies. He was a member of ACME for 4 years.

Roger has been involved in a very large number of textbooks (about 150), as an author, co-author or editor, and he has many articles to his name. He has also written or contributed to several major reports, including the following:

He is an experienced examiner,  having been involved in the various aspects of formal assessment for over 40 years.
