Research summary

My research covers two main themes: Chemical vapour deposition (CVD) and gas sesning. My work on CVD is focused on developing new methodologies such as hybrid aerosol assisted atmospheric CVD and the use of electric fields in CVD. My work in gas sensing is focused on solid state metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) sensors. MOS technology shows lots of promise but has problems with selectivity, my work looks at understanding the effecst of transformation layers and sensor microstructure to overcome this problem. See for more information.
