Research summary

My current research interests focus on the ideas of duality; the possibility of having different descriptions of a given system. In particular gauge/gravity dualities, T-duality and its non-abelian generalisation, known as Non-abelian T-duality.

The main idea has been the use of Non-abelian T-duality as a technique generating solutions in supergravity. When it is implemented on backgrounds whose (strongly coupled) field theory dual is well known, it produces new backgrounds with a very interesting dual description in terms of quantum field theories at strong coupling. In this context, the work I have been doing is to study geometrical (G-structures) and field theoretical implications of this duality transformation.

Recently, I have been implementing these ideas on 4d quantum field theories that have not a conventional Lagrangian description and for which the holographic dual geometries are of relevant importance to learn about them.

Moreover, I have also been studying integrable systems which correspond to deformations of two dimensional conformal field theories. In this vein, the construction of string backgrounds and its implications in the context of gauge/gravity dualities are also on my present research interests.
