Sue Sentance carries out educational research in the areas of computer science pedagogy, curriculum developments in computer science, and teacher professional development at King's College London.
Sue has a keen interest in supporting teachers to feel confident delivering the Computing curriculum. She is part of the team running CAS London and a member of the CAS board. She has co-developed a website to support teachers learning Python programming, worked with Microsoft Research on the .NET Gadgeteer project, set up the BCS Certificate in Computer Science Teaching and is running an action research project for teachers entitled Teaching Inquiry for Computing Education. She is currently working on projects to evaluate the BBC micro:bit and to make computer science education research more accessible to teachers.
Sue gained a PhD in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Edinburgh in 1993. She worked at various universities before training as a teacher. In 2011, she left teaching to train new teachers and conduct research into computer science education.
