Susan Raikes is Director of Learning at the Science Museum Group with overall responsibility for learning direction, strategy and planning. Prior to joining the Group, Susan spent 10 years at the British Museum, with responsibility for all education programming and national partnership work. Susan previously worked in museum education roles for Tyne & Wear Museums and the Sussex Archaeological Society.
Susan was the 2012/2013 Arts Council England Museums Fellow on the Clore Cultural Leadership Programme and is also a curator and author. Susan is passionate about the power of museums to intrigue and inspire and the unique position of museums to provide creative learning environments. She MAs in both Museum Studies and in Primary Education. Susan is a Trustee of both the Collections Trust and the Postal Museum.
