Tiffany Wood holds a Royal Society Industry Fellowship to study “Formulations for the future: understanding traditional and innovative composites” in collaboration with The Mentholatum Company Ltd., makers of the iconic product ‘DEEP HEAT’.
She is the Director of the Edinburgh Complex Fluids Partnership (ECFP), an intensive knowledge exchange unit within the University of Edinburgh, where scientists bridge the gap between academic research and industrial challenges in the area of soft material science. She was responsible for establishing ECFP in 2012 and has worked with over 20 companies from a wide range of sectors (agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, personal care, paints, and food and drink) to solve challenges and introduce innovation.
Tiffany is a founder member of the Industry Working Group of the Young Academy of Scotland, associated with the Royal Society of Edinburgh, and Chair of the SCI Scotland Group Committee. She gained a MPhys and a PhD in Physics from the University of Manchester and is a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and the SCI – where science meets business.
