Tony became an investment adviser in 1984, and founded Wise Investment in 1992, where he was CEO, fund manager and adviser. The company, which currently employs around 40 people, became employee-owned in 2013. He retired in 2019.

After graduating from Cambridge in 1984, Tony was an upland farmer in Wales for several years, where he began keeping bees. Tony was subsequently invited to manage a company producing beehives and equipment, which he did for several years before becoming an investment adviser. He has been keeping bees for almost 50 years. He has a lifelong interest in farming and its place within the natural environment, and has always been an advocate of ethical investment since its inception in the early '80s. Tony is currently the only non-executive at FarmED an organisation devoted to research into and the promotion of sustainable agriculture, where he leads a group of beekeepers developing a bee education programme.

Tony has been a member of the Royal Society’s Investment Committee since June 2018 and is due to step down at the end of 2024.
