Yifang Wang is a Researcher at the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) of Chinese academy of Sciences. He obtained his Ph. D. at the University of Florence in Italy, and subsequently worked at MIT and Stanford University.
At IHEP, Yifang Wang led the design, construction and science effort of the BESIII experiment at the Beijing Electron-Positron Collider for tau-charm physics. He initiated and led the Daya Bay reactor neutrino experiment which observed a new type of neutrino oscillation denoted by13. He led the construction of the JUNO neutrino experiment, and proposed the Circular Electron-Positron Collider (CEPC) as a Higgs Factory.
He is a recipient of the Breakthrough Prize, Panofsky Prize, EPS-HEP prize, Nikkei Asia Prize, Pontecorvo Prize, Future Science Prize and the 1st grade National Natural Science Award of China.
