The fundamental constants of physics, precision measurements and SI base units

14 - 15 February 2005 09:00 - 18:00

By Dr Terry Quinn FRS and Professor Keith Burnett FRS

Accurate and reliable measurements are the foundation for international trade, high-technology manufacturing, human health and safety, the protection of the environment, global climate studies. Precision measurements allow the essential tests of scientific theory upon which all these depend. This meeting will discuss these precision measurements and the increasing role of the fundamental constants in our measurement system.
