Overview
By Professor Robert von Fay-Siebenburgen (Erdelyi), Professor Bernard Roberts, Professor Mike Thompson and Professor Michael Ruderman
The Sun's magnetic field is responsible for many spectacular phenomena. Recently our understanding of the solar corona has been significantly improved by the direct detection, by TRACE and SOHO, of waves. The new subject of coronal seismology is rapidly developing. We aim to address recent observational and theoretical progress in studies of wave phenomena in the solar plasma.
