Visiting Times
12:30pm to 7:00pm on Saturday 22 September 2012
11:00am to 4:00pm on Sunday 23 September 2012
On Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 September 2012, the Royal Society opens its doors to the public as part of Open House London, the capital's biggest architectural festival. Visitors will be able to take a guided architectural tour of the Society's building. Tours will begin every 20 minutes on a first-come-first-served basis, with a maximum of 15 people in each group. It will also be possible to visit the building to take a self-guided tour of the special exhibitions Broadcasting Science and Edward Lear and the Scientists. Art in miniature at the Royal Society, part of the London Design Festival, will also be available to view.
Open House is a simple but powerful concept: hundreds of great buildings of all types and periods open up their doors to all, completely without charge. This unique opportunity to access and understand architecture is a challenge to look at everyday buildings anew, and communicates the value of a well-designed city to everybody who uses it. For more information visit the Open House website.
