Animals have adapted to life all over the planet, from the freezing poles to the hottest desert. In the How Animals Live workshop Christiane will explore the extraordinary diversity in animal life, and encourage children to reflect on how a tiny change can have a huge impact on a whole habitat and beyond.
The Centre will hold two workshops in support of the Young People's Book Prize 2014 on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 July based on Christiane Dorion’s book How Animals Live.
The workshop includes an audio visual presentation with fun games, riddles and images from the book.
The workshops will be held In the Wildlife Theatre which is part of the Discovery Centre. Workshop participants will have access to the entire Centre throughout their visit including the interactive live cameras. A world-leader in remote wildlife viewing, the Centre uses state-of-the-art solar powered cameras on the Firth of Forth islands to beam back incredible live close-ups of seabirds and marine wildlife onto giant screens. The cameras are controlled remotely by visitors all without disturbing the animals in any way. Images are also beamed out live via the Centre’s live webcams at www.seabird.org.
