Event details

What do we use our intelligence for on a day to day basis? We have the capacity to use complex problem solving; to read motivation and intention in others. However, we often bypass this with the use of unconscious reasoning and take shortcuts to reach decisions. How and when do we use fast and slow cognition, and are the same distinctions present in the animal kingdom?

Dr Suzanne Shultz is a Royal Society University Research Fellow based in the Faculty of Life Sciences at the University of Manchester.
