Science with a million people

Scientists are drowning in data, but an increasing number are asking for help. Through ‘citizen science’ projects, volunteers have discovered galaxies, found planets, hunted for aliens and explored the Earth’s wild places. 

This talk, by Chris Lintott - the founder of the Zooniverse, home to all of these projects and more - shared their stories, explored the links between this very contemporary way of doing science and history of science, and considered how science, and scientific publishing, is changing in order to meet the crowd.
