A rough guide to engineering

Explore how engineering has changed our everyday lives with the Science Made Simple team and discover how engineering shapes the world around us.

Come find out what engineers do and how they do it. Learn how engineers build structures that survive earthquakes, cook food using only mirrors and design cars that travel hundreds of miles an hour.

This event will run from 12pm-1pm, 2pm-3pm and 4pm-5pm

Attending the event

  • Free to attend
  • Register at info desk on arrival
  • The Royal Society building gets very busy during weekends, so please arrive in plenty of time
  • This event is part of the Royal Society's Summer Science Exhibition 2016
