Overview

We explored the role of social, built and physical environments in the onset of psychotic disorders.

Dr James Kirkbride explored how our external environment affects the risk of experiencing a psychotic episode. Psychosis is characterised by a loss of contact with reality. From minor hallucinations through to disorders such as schizophrenia, the symptoms are wide-ranging and diverse.

This event was part of Science in the City, a week long celebration of Manchester as European City of Science 2016.

What is a Café Scientifique?
