Ageing well: past and present perspectives

08 - 09 July 2023 10:00 - 18:00 The Royal Society Free
People of different ages standing on stairs.

This event is part of the Royal Society's Summer Science Exhibition 2023.

The nineteenth century can tell us a lot about modern-day attitudes towards ageing, particularly ideas of ‘good ageing’ and how to ‘grow old gracefully’.

Join British Academy Mid-career Fellow Amy Culley and colleagues Alice Crossley, Rebecca Dawson and Jonathon Shears as they introduce everyday experiences of later life through an intimate listening station. See images and texts from the nineteenth century and explore what it means to age well through a variety of activities for all ages.
