The art of space - creative mini workshops with Jackie Burns
This event is part of the Royal Society's Summer Science Exhibition 2023.
Create your own cosmic masterpiece in one of four mini art sessions, assisted by space artist Jackie Burns. With a choice of graphite, colour pencils, gel pens, or watercolours, you can relax and enjoy creating a space visualisation to remember.
Jackie Burns is a Fellow of the International Association for Astronomical Artists (IAAA), a visual science communicator, UK and European Lead for S.T.E.A.M (on behalf of the IAAA), and a multi-discipline artist.
She has exhibited work at: NASA 50th Anniversary Exhibition (Houston, Texas); the annual British Science Fiction & Fantasy Conventions; Space - Wells & Mendip Museum (Somerset); Well House Gallery (Horndon-on-the-Hill, Essex); One Beautiful World Art Festival - Wickford & Runwell Art Festival (Essex). Artist Guest of Honour, Levitation 2024 (Telford, Easter weekend 2024).
Attending the event
This drop-in activity will be held in the City of London 1 room on Tuesday 4 July 2023, 6pm — 10pm, with group sessions at 6pm, 7pm, 8pm and 9pm.
