Third International Summit on Human Genome Editing
The Third International Summit on Human Genome Editing will take place on 7-9 March 2022 at the Francis Crick Institute, London UK. Building on previous events held in Washington, D.C. (2015) and Hong Kong (2018), this Summit will continue the important dialogue around human genome editing. It will facilitate a global discussion on somatic and germline genome editing, including developments in clinical trials and genome editing tools such as CRISPR/Cas9. It will also address the recent report from the International Commission on the Clinical use of Heritable Human Genome Editing and the upcoming WHO Expert Advisory Committee on Developing Global Standards for Governance and Oversight of Human Genome Editing report.
The three-day summit is being organised by the Royal Society, the UK Academy of Medical Sciences, the US National Academies of Sciences and Medicine and The World Academy of Sciences. The planning committee will be chaired by Professor Robin Lovell-Badge FRS FMedSci and members will be announced soon.
Further information and details on how to access the Summit will be released closer to the time.
