Do you think we should make fish that grow faster? Or rice that contains more vitamins? What might some of the costs and benefits of doing this be and might there be better ways of achieving the same outcome? As the videos used in the public dialogue explain, these are just some of the questions thrown up by contemporary uses of genetic technologies.
The case studies used in the dialogue also opened up these questions by looking at specific examples of the ways genetic technologies are being used or might be used. They are split into plant, animal and human applications.
